The stage starts at the Fernpass at 1,216 m. From there you follow the old paths of the Via Claudia Augusta off the busy road. The graveled hiking path passes directly at Schloss Fernsteinsee. The whole area around the Fernsteinsee can be described as a natural jewel and is always worth a visit. From the Hotel Fernsteinsee, the hiking path goes parallel to the main road to Nassereith, crossing the campsite below. At the Postplatz in Nassereith you keep to the right back in direction of the Fernpass and after 30 metres you turn left. After the bridge, follow the path parallel to the stream to the Kneipp facility Mühlsprung.
