Grießbachklamm: A Fascinating Nature Show Starting in Erpfendorf, walk 1.5 kilometers along a little used road to the parking lot of Grießbachklamm. Follow the path along the river to the entrance of the Grießbachklamm. Suspension bridges and wooden planks give access to the stunning ravine and offer superb views of turquoise waters and washed-out rock formations. Along your way through the ravine, a hike that the whole family is sure to enjoy, you will come across two roaring waterfalls that definitely merit a photo. Further along, in a wider part of the side valley, you will find benches, a barefoot trail with a meditation circle among other things. Angerlalm: Inn with Petting Zoo At the end of Griessbachklamm take the narrow trail up to Angerlalm at 1120 meters above sea level (hiking time so far: approx. 2.5 hrs). In addition to fantastic views of the Steinplatte and Loferer Steinberge mountains, the family-run inn offers a petting zoo with adorable bunnies, dwarf goats and dwarf sheep that can be viewed up close and touched. After a short break, continue along a forest road past a small pond to Obingalm and Adlerspoint. At Obingalm don’t miss the short side trip to a cross on your right. One Stunning View After Another A forest road takes you to Baumoosalm. Along the way, views of the striking Loferer Steinberge mountain range will open up in front of you. In the fall the peaks are often already covered with snow. To your left you will see Steinplatte mountain. After about 4.5 hours you will reach Baumoosalm. Before you stop for a break, head to Baumooskogl just above the inn. At the summit cross (1504 meters above sea level) you will be rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree panorama views! The Tailpiece The way down is along a narrow trail through wooded areas and pasturelands. After about 30 minutes you will get to a forest road, which you follow to the village of Scheffau. Continue along a trail to Oberhofen and on to St. Johann in Tirol, the finish of Stage 4.
