Based on the motto: "From North to South with the Best Views," the Panorama Cycle Route leads over the most beautiful heights on the eastern side of the low mountain range. However, these panoramas need to be cycled to be enjoyed. The first stage doesn't offer many distant views yet, but with each kilometer heading south, the route truly lives up to its name. From Pforzheim in the north to Waldshut-Tiengen in the south, touring cyclists travel about 280 kilometers on well-paved bike paths through valleys and across scenic high plateaus. The route includes segments of the Enztal Cycle Route, the West and Central High-Altitude Cycle Routes, the Kinzigtal Cycle Route, and the South Black Forest Cycle Route. Throughout the route, there are about 2,400 meters of total elevation gain to be conquered. With the help of electric assistance, it's easy to ride; with pure muscle power, the difficulty ranges from "easy to medium." The largest elevation change is to be tackled between Enzklösterle Seewald-Besenfeld. After that, the route mostly runs along the high plateau between the Black Forest peaks and the Swabian Alb, until, starting from Titisee, it finally leads downhill to the Rhine Valley. Those who wish can take the train back to Pforzheim from Waldshut-Tiengen or continue cycling on the South Black Forest Cycle Route to Basel and further north.
