The Grafenbergsee is considered an insider tip among hiking enthusiasts. The quiet lake lies romantically in a narrow valley surrounded by high rock walls. Although no summit is reached on this tour, the hike still attracts with its scenic attractions. The approach from the Kneipp facility in Weißenbach is relatively long. This deters many, wrongly. The tour is pleasantly quiet and worthwhile in any case.
You start from the parking lot at the barrier behind the Kneipp facility. First it goes flat, following the small Gradenbach, to the hunting lodge to the somewhat hidden Gradenbach waterfall. Behind the hut you take trail no. 668 up a wooded steep step. Partly the steep path is secured with wire ropes. After the steep section, the trail leads into a romantic high valley. A small stream has to be crossed several times. After about 2.5 hours the Ahornsee is reached. On the shore is a small hut, in front of which you can wonderfully sit down and relax. Now all the remaining energy is collected to reach the Grafenbergsee in another 30 minutes. The Grafenbergalm can also be reached in a total of one hour from Ahornsee. The descent is again through the romantic high valley to the starting point at the Kneipp facility in Weißenbach.
