You can reach the blast furnace and museum in Bundschuh, a relic of iron ore mining from the 16th century, with your own vehicle or the 712 bus (July & August). From there, the marked forest path leads up a moderate incline in approx. 2
h to the Größingalm (1,934 m). The trail continues across damp meadows, which you cross as far to the left as possible, and then over a grassy slope without difficulty to the 2,192 m high summit with magnificent views of the Lungau. There is also a hiking stamp there.
From the Gaipahöhe, follow the markings into a saddle and climb up to the Zechnerhöhe (2,188 m). After approx. 1 hour, you reach the Matehanshöhe (2,086 m) via alpine meadows and occasional fences. Continue along the ridge until you reach a small mountain ridge
down to the top station of the ski lift. From there you can take a taxi or the 712 bus back to Bundschuh.
