Speed hiking is the new trend in hiking, where the athlete sets the pace for himself. Speed hiking is not about the best time, the focus is rather on fitness. The mountain is conquered walking at the highest possible individual pace. As with trail running, the weight of the equipment is reduced to a minimum.
This trail runs along the eastern side of the Rosengarten Gorge. From the starting point at Johannesplatz, the trail leads over the Imster Bergl past the Laurentius Church. From there, first head towards Hoch-Imst and then keep to the right, first to the Imster Wetterkreuz and then on to the start in Hoch-Imst. From here, follow the forest path, then the Untermarkter Almweg to destination 1, the U-ALM (middle station). From here in the direction of the Latschenhütte via the Jägersteig, then via the Muttekopfhütte and the Drischlsteig path (pay attention to trail conditions and warnings/opening!) to destination 2, the Alpjoch mountain station.
