At the parish church in Erl the tour first leads you via the sealed Erlerbergstraße to Gaisgraben. It then goes up the Erlerberg and right into Trockenbachtal. This part of the route is rich in variety, crossing idyllic alpine pastures. Until just after the Schwarzrieshütte (open) the tour goes gently uphill. Then keep right, crossing a river to the Spitzstein. Here you’ll face a moderately difficult climb via Nesselbrand. Push uphill for a few metres and continue to the right on the trail. The route is short and punchy up to the Altkaseralm and to the Spitzsteinhaus below (both are open). Head back to the starting point via the sunny slopes of the Erlerberg.
