The Almenland Nature Park is located in the middle of Styria and only 50 kilometers north of the cultural and provincial capital Graz. The 125 contiguous, managed alpine pastures are unique in Europe and a great hiking area! If you come here, you can expect a large network of hiking trails over soft alpine meadows and always with great views far out into the country. This is not about vertical meters or summit victories, but about the joy of walking in a wonderful landscape.
On the other hand, the Almenland is also known for its gorges and caves. The "Bärenschützklamm" is one of the most beautiful water-bearing gorges and leads up breathtaking steps and ladders to the Teichalm or even to the Hochlantsch summit. It's a bit more leisurely through the "Raabklamm", with a total length of 12 kilometers Austria's longest gorge and a paradise for black stork, kingfisher or hoopoe.
